For eight years I was on the State Citizens Review Board for children in foster care. These children live in a state of limbo with no permanence and no certain future. Seeing attorneys represent these children, that they hardly knew, was heart breaking. The CASA is a voice for these children, and truly knows them and what their needs are. A CASA helps speed up the process of getting these children into a permanent home. My donation to CASA saves the state monies spent on foster care and allows it to be used elsewhere to help other children in need. CASA is blessed with one of the most passionate dedicated directors of any children’s organization in our community. Megan Shultz is an excellent leader of CASA and uses our donations wisely.
Myrna and Ralph Wheeler
We support CASA because we believe every child deserves a safe and happy home. A friend and co-worker first introduced us to CASA. As we became involved in understanding the incredible work it does, hearing the stories of children and families that had been helped, and meeting the dedicated staff and volunteers, we realized why she was so enthusiastic! Myrna helped start CASA’s annual Run/Walk, and we both volunteer for the event every year. We’re proud to be associated with an organization that makes such a positive impact in our community.
Liesel Brooks
A friend of mine invited me to get involved with CASA in 2003. I watched a court proceeding involving a CASA volunteer, and was struck by how the judge’s decision changed that child’s life forever. It was clear how valuable and necessary the work of the CASA was in that child’s life. It’s also likely the CASA interrupted a cycle and helped to change the direction for future generations. To me, that’s very tangible hope for our future as a community. In addition to supporting CASA financially, I organize a benefit concert for CASA each summer. I hope my contributions will help to bring a CASA volunteer to every child who is suffering.
Kevin Simrin, RE/MAX Integrity
RE/MAX Integrity is proud to be a corporate sponsor of CASA. There is no excuse for child abuse. We believe every child has a right to a safe, permanent home. It all comes down to having a voice. That’s why a CASA volunteer is so important. I have committed to heading up a decade of pro-CASA fundraising leadership within my organization. As the title sponsor for CASA’s annual fundraising events, and by creating on-site clothing closets and supporting the school supplies drive throughout the company, we are helping CASA to broaden their impact and be able to assist more abused and neglected children. This is about hope, about new beginnings, our way of making a difference in the lives of children here in our community.
