We are so very excited to introduce you to our new Program Manager, Kelly Warren!
Kelly worked as the assistant program director and field placement coordinator for the Family and Human Services program since 2004 and has worked in higher education since 1995. Her background is in counseling at-risk and non-traditional students, supervision and professional leadership. She and her husband, Estin, have raised their three children Travis (29), Cody (23), and Reily (20) in this community and all three currently attend UO.
The Program Manager position is new to CASA. In this role, Kelly will be directly supervising CASAs and overseeing our recruitment efforts, including recruiting more volunteers from our rural areas and diverse populations.
Here are some fun facts for you to get to know Kelly a little better:
Where did you grow up? Phoenix, Arizona and Douglas County, Oregon
Favorite restaurant? Cafe Glendi at 5th Street — the chicken souvlaki is the bomb!
What quality do you admire the most in people? Grace towards others… and determination.
Fashion trend you regret the most? Spiral perms!!!!
If your life were a movie, who would play you? Melissa McCarthy!
Favorite musical artist? Michael Franti
Milk or dark chocolate? Milk
Why did you choose to work at CASA? My personal mission echoes Gandhi’s notion of being the change you wish to see in the world. At CASA I’m doing this by supporting community members to look out for those who are most vulnerable. This is a real honor for me.
