CASA of Lane County Board President Jesse Howes has announced that Heather Murphy is leaving her role as CASA Executive Director in late August to accept a new position with South Lane School District as the Early Learning Administrator.

“Heather has been an integral part of the CASA team for the past six years and her commitment and professionalism will be missed,” Howes said. “She leaves behind a dedicated group of staff, board members, and community partners that will assure the children and youth that we serve continue to receive the advocacy they need and deserve.”

A transition committee consisting of board members, staff, and community volunteers has been convened to assure the ongoing operations are fully supported and to begin the process of hiring a new director.

“The decision to accept a new position was difficult, I have loved my time at CASA. I inherited a strong program and am proud to leave it even stronger. I am excited to continue my work supporting children and families with South Lane School District,” Heather said.
