Legislative Call to Action

“A single clear voice carries far and achieves much”  — Unknown

A core belief of CASA is that a single voice is powerful enough to change the life of a child. Now we are asking you to use your voice to benefit our most vulnerable children across the state by signing up to be a legislative advocate for CASA.

Duties of a Legislative Advocate:

  • Sign up to be on the Legislative Advocate email list
  • Stay up to date on legislative activity by reading the emails
  • Be willing to write, call, email or visit your legislator when needed

To sign up, email Heather Murphy or call her at (541) 868-3081.

What CASA Advocates are Saying

“The legislators I met were interested and focused on the problem of serving foster children in Oregon. I found them to be extremely generous with their time; several meeting lasted more than an hour. They also indicated anticipation of our visit to the State Capitol. They all seemed to understand that this budget session would be a very difficult one, and they were looking for the most efficient way to budget state money.” — Julia Keizur

“It was heartwarming to realize how much state legislators know about CASA–and how highly they respect the program.” — Barb Newman

“Although I was a little apprehensive about meeting with legislators at the beginning of the process, I quickly came to realize that these people are almost as interested in speaking with us as we are with them. Each of my encounters with legislators was pleasant, informative and fulfilling. I ended up truly enjoying the experience and looking forward to further involvement.” — Helen Lucas
