What is a Friend of CASA?
Being a CASA can be a big time commitment, and we understand not everyone has the time or the means to commit to advocating for a child in a child welfare case. That is why we created the Friends of CASA. Friends of CASA can help us at events to ensure everything runs smoothly, take on special projects to increase staff efficiency, or help in any other way that’s needed!

What Do Friends of CASA Do?
Friends of CASA will be added to an email list and notified of volunteer opportunities related to events or special projects. We need a lot of volunteers each year to support our operations, so we need all the help we can get! As a Friend of CASA, you will be invited to volunteer for the following opportunities:
CASA events such as Casino Night or the Pickleball Tournament
Third-Party events such as Blues & Brews
Delivery of materials such as table tents, posters, napkins, and coasters during April Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month
Blue Bags preparation
Special projects such as our holiday gift wrapping or stuffing envelopes
Anything else that can help CASA out!

Nope! There are no requirements for how many or which events Friends of CASA should volunteer for, although we hope that you volunteer for at least two events per year.

Yes! If you’d like to become a Friend of CASA and have the capacity to get more involved, we invite you to join our mailing list. To avoid overwhelming our CASA volunteers, we’ll only be sending volunteer opportunities to those who sign up. If you’d like to continue receiving these updates, make sure to add your name to the list!

Yes, each Friend of CASA email contains a link to allow you to easily unsubscribe at any time.

There is always a variety of tasks where we need help, and you can choose what you would like to do. Most of our volunteer opportunities will be at events, where you will help us ensure the event runs smoothly by staffing booths, setting up tables, or talking to event participants.
We also have volunteer opportunities that include helping us keep our yard beautiful, stuffing letters for our annual campaign or helping clean up our warehouse! The emails you receive will contain all the information you need to decide what you would like to do and how you can help us.

That is entirely up to you! Volunteer slots for helping at events are typically about four hours long, depending on the event, and you can sign up to volunteer at as many or as few events as you want throughout the year.
